Hello everyone!

My name is Sherwin and I am 100% Chinese but very much Filipino at heart. Traveling is my one and only passion and someday, I'll be able to travel the world one country at a time. I also enjoy photography and writing even though I am not a maven in any of those. Allow me to share my world to you.

Thanks for dropping by! ^__^

Vacancy

Once again, the room beside mine will soon remain vacant and uninhabited. The smell of unused sheets and untouched furniture will consume the room once more.  In a way, a somewhat expected for this to happen. I’ve come to understand that we can’t force a person to live happily in a place that is no longer his home even if you provide him with all the essentials of living. Sooner or later, he has to listen to the call of his conscience and that will guide him back where he needs to be.

Though I’m expecting that I’ll be getting a poignant reminder every time I passed the soon unlit room, it just saddens me that I never really got to understand him. We both have obligations to each other but never did we got the hint on how to fulfill them. Or maybe we have?

I guess this is a personal experience that would ground me for the rest of my life —that I should cherish every moment I get to spent with the ones that I love, that regardless of your unsettled conflicts or dispute, always make an effort to tie all the loose ends. We don’t have all the time in the world so we have to make those moments count.

Well at least in spite of it all, we were able to make it clear to him that he we’d always make him feel welcome in the place where his roots were once flourished and nurtured. But for now, he needs to be somewhere where he needs to complete a home.

Just not with us.
