Hello everyone!

My name is Sherwin and I am 100% Chinese but very much Filipino at heart. Traveling is my one and only passion and someday, I'll be able to travel the world one country at a time. I also enjoy photography and writing even though I am not a maven in any of those. Allow me to share my world to you.

Thanks for dropping by! ^__^

Student Mode

Once again, I’m relieving the student life. This time, in the place where eagles sore high. Don’t worry though, I’m always bleed green no matter what.

Over the past few months, I have been consistently craving to get back in a learning environment to finally make myself more engaged rather than just contemplating while I sit on my hands. I’ve been ranting as to how much I felt that my brain cells are slowly disintegrating but I’m really glad that I’m passed that stage as I have enrolled myself in the Public Relations Program by Ateneo De Manila University in partnership with the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.

I enrolled in this program, using my own hard earned money, because I wanted to learn how PR and digital PR can proved itself to be viable in improving or developing a particular business. I’m not a PR nor a marketing professional but since I give value to the importance of communication, I’ve unconfined myself to the barriers of HR to explore the world of public relations.

Hopefully once the program is finish, I’ll be more equipped in the whole process or the totality in executing a PR campaign whether it be traditional or online — from the inception of the objectives to the analysis and evaluation of the PR platform. I’m also hoping that I’ll be more knowledgable about how important is for a company to include a PR arm. Maybe after attending this course, I’ll be able to provide sufficient knowledge and data that will allow me to propose an establishment of a PR arm in our company. Who knows, right?

Some people are actually wondering, “why go into PR when you pursued a degree in Psychology?” If there’s something I learned from my working experience, your education background does not always dictate what career you will have. Yes it helps but if you are really passionate about something else, you make the extra effort to do so. And so I did.

When I first saw my classmates, I felt an all-time-low feeling of awkwardness and intimidation. It’s quite uncanny to be in a room surrounded by professionals whom you know have already made their mark in the industry then you see yourself sitting there taking notes of things that they are already familiar with. But despite the uneasy feeling, I made a promise to myself that I’ll prove to everyone that I can just be as competitive as they are regardless of lack of experience in the industry.

So let’s see where this goes. Hoping for prayers that I surpass being a student once more. Go Sherwin!

I’ll open my eyes no matter how bright the sun shines.
